Insurance + Fees

  • Most therapists in our office accept Blue Cross Blue Shield  (We accept nearly all BCBS plans. There are two exceptions: Blue Local and Blue Value. Those are restricted plans that we would be out-of-network for. Our clients who have these plans pay us our self-pay rates). Please check with your current plan to determine if you have a deductible, co-pay, etc. so you will know what your portion will be for therapy. When you call, the CPT code for therapy is 90837. If we do not have clarity about your insurance, we will charge the contracted rate and adjust later. There is never any guarantee about payment from insurance, even when “in-network.”  All fees are due at the end of each session with a card on file.

  • Holly Hauser and Betsy Karas currently accept United Healthcare/Optum. Again, please check with your plan to see what is covered and what portion you will be responsible for. 

  • Currently, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, insurances we contract with are covering telehealth services. The rates and what clients owe have varied widely and continue to change. We will keep our clients updated on those changes. 

Self-Pay Rates and Out of Network

We offer self-pay rates as follows:

  • 60-90 minute intake session: $175

  • 60-minute therapy session: $150 per session 

  • 90-minute session: $175 per session

  • Psychological Testing: We charge in packages. We do not file insurance for psychological testing and evaluations. Check our psych testing page for more information about our testing packages.  Please contact us with questions. 

We are happy to provide a receipt (also known as a “superbill”) of any payments you make that can be used to file out-of-network benefits with insurance. These receipts include the necessary information you will need to seek reimbursement on your own. 

Our office accepts all forms of payment, including cash, check, credit card, Flex Spending, and Medical benefits cards (HSA cards).

 
 

Office Hours + Scheduling

Primary office hours vary according to our patients’ needs. Please contact us for an appointment.

Re-scheduling + Cancellations

We ask for at least 24-hours notice for canceling or re-scheduling appointments. “No-show” appointments or cancellations under 24-hours are charged a fee of $130. Repeated cancellations may result in termination of services. We believe we are very flexible regarding re-scheduling and cancellations, especially if there is an emergency. TheraNest will send you a reminder email two days before your scheduled session and that is your cue to make any necessary changes to avoid fees!
